The importance of cleaning your paint brush can hardly be over stated.
Any brush will last much longer when cared for right. This is even more important when you invest in high end brushes.
Lucky for us, all you really need is this brick of brush soap, and your brushes are in good hands.
The Best Paint Brush Cleaning Tool
The Masters Brush Cleaner & Preserver is the ultimate solution to make your pain brushes last longer. It checks all the boxes you’d want:
- It’s easy to use,
- Doesn’t break the bank and,
- Lasts practically a lifetime.
And this is really all you can ask for.
It’s simplicity means you’ll be more inclined to use it, as it is not really more work. And the best part is you can buy one and be set, as it takes a lot (and I mean, a lot) of uses to go through a whole bar.
How to Use the Master’s Brush Soap
There are two ways I like to use the Masters Brush Cleaner & Preserver. As the name suggests, one that’s for cleaning, and one for preserving.
In terms of cleaning, I do these 3 steps when I’m done painting for the day. Not between every color, that is unnecessary.
Clean your brush in water like you usually do.
Before wiping it on a paper towel, roll it around the bar of soap like you would on a miniature you were painting. Unlike paint, don’t be afraid to get soap everywhere on the bristles of the brush, not just the tip.
Give it a good whirl in water and dry it on a paper towel.
Again, not rocket science, and not a waste of time.
The preserving trick came recommended by a brush manufacturer. It makes the biggest difference over a long period of time. This is perfect for brushes you don’t use every day.
When you’re done cleaning it for the day, add a little bit of soap to the tip of your brush.
Then shape it in a fine point, and store it like this.
This extra soap will help your brush keep its shape, and is easily cleaned off in water the next time you use it.
And there you have it. Give your fancy brushes all the love and care they deserve!
